A photography session is about more than simply taking beautiful pictures. It’s about creating an experience where you can feel comfortable, enjoy the moment, and walk away with photographs that genuinely feel like you.
Whether you’re planning a family photoshoot, children’s portrait session, couples session, or celebrating an important milestone, my goal is to make the entire process relaxed, simple, and enjoyable from beginning to end.
I photograph clients throughout Bradford, Newmarket, Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Innisfil, Vaughan, and surrounding areas of the GTA, with each session thoughtfully planned around the people, location, and story being photographed.
Here’s what you can expect when you book a photography session with me.
1. Booking Your Photography Session
The first step is getting in touch.
Send me a message through my contact page and tell me a little about the type of photography session you have in mind. We’ll discuss your preferred date, location, and anything important you’d like me to know.
Once the details are confirmed, I’ll provide the information you need to prepare for your session, including your session agreement and helpful guidance for the next steps.
2. Preparing for Your Photoshoot
Before your session, feel free to ask me anything you’re unsure about. You can save poses you like, but remember that what looks natural for one person may not work for another. Be ready to focus on interacting naturally — talk, walk, play, cuddle, and laugh together. For individual portraits, a meaningful prop can help. The goal is to capture real moments and expressions, with light guidance when needed.
3. A Few Things to Keep in Mind Before Your Session
Choose clothes that you feel comfortable and confident in and that allow you to move naturally. Make sure everyone is rested and fed, and give yourself enough time to get ready and arrive without rushing. For outdoor sessions, dress for the weather and consider bringing an extra layer, especially for children.
Bring water and a small, non-messy snack for younger children if needed. Avoid putting pressure on them to smile or “behave for photos” — letting them explore, play, and warm up at their own pace often leads to much more natural expressions. Before we start, empty bulky items from pockets and remove things you don’t want in the photos, such as hair ties on wrists.
4. What Happens During Your Photography Session
Throughout the photoshoot, I’ll provide gentle direction when needed — helping with positioning, movement, flattering angles, and where to look — without making the session feel overly posed.
My photography style combines natural, candid moments with thoughtfully guided portraits. This gives you a gallery with variety: beautiful photographs looking at the camera alongside the spontaneous interactions and genuine expressions that happen naturally.
5. After Your Photoshoot
Once your session is complete, the work continues behind the scenes.
I carefully review each photograph captured and professionally edit the final images, paying attention to colour, lighting, composition, skin tones, and the overall consistency of your gallery while keeping the photographs natural and true to the moment.
A few highlights from the photoshoot will be delivered on the next business day, and a link to a Google Drive folder with all the photos will be provided.
A Relaxed Photography Experience, From Beginning to End
Being photographed doesn’t have to feel awkward or stressful.
My goal is to create an experience where you feel comfortable enough to be yourself while I take care of the details behind the camera. The result is a collection of photographs that includes the beautiful portraits you’ll want to frame, as well as the genuine moments you’ll want to remember.
If you’re looking for a family, children’s, couples, portrait, or milestone photographer in Bradford, Newmarket, Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Innisfil, Vaughan, or the surrounding GTA, I’d love to help you plan a session that feels like you.
